Some lives follow a carefully prepared plan. Mine rarely did.
From competing in the Paris–Dakar Rally and travelling through Africa to producing international events, developing seemingly impossible projects and meeting extraordinary people, my journey has taken me far beyond anything I could have imagined.
DAS BUCH! is not a conventional autobiography. It is a collection of personal memories from more than six decades — stories of adventure, friendship, family, success and failure. Stories about cars, aircraft, deserts, glaciers, whales and major events where technology failed at precisely the wrong moment and improvisation became the only workable solution.
